Lynn Barker has been volunteering at the Samaritan Medical Clinics Rescue Mission Clinic weekly since August 2016. The Samaritan Medical Clinics provide medical care to individuals that do not have insurance and cannot afford medical care.  She works with Dr Hinson on Monday mornings.  Since August, she has quickly realized that these individuals (predominately men) have needs beyond healthcare.  As she gets to know them she finds out someone may need a new coat, socks, shoes, or belt. bruce-boyer-light-of-the-worldBruce Boyer has been serving in the Kernersville community for many years now.  And is currently active as a light in the world, as a board member at the YMCA and CareNet Counseling Center, as a local author… even as he officiates soccer!  Proving how we can be a light in the world is not limited.   Fountain of Life will be hosting Bruce November 7 for his new devotional book, “Touchpoints of Faith – God’s Word in Daily Life”. – See Flyer

Terry Griffin is being inducted into the WSSU Hall of Fame on September 23rd.  His passion for young adults, his church and community is a great example of being the Light of the World to our community.


Here is a snip from is Hall of Fame Bio: Member of WSSU Foundation Board of Directors, WSSU Heritage Society, WSSU Hall of Fame committee, VP Kannapolis Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center, assistant coach WSSU women’s tennis, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.  His passions are spending time with his family and serving his church and community. Terry and Yvette established the Yvette & Terry Griffin endowment scholarship at WSSU.
