Update March 7, 2019

Thank You

As we reflect on the past and how God has moved us both individually and as the body of Christ, we are humbled and amazed at the mercy and grace He has given us during the pastoral vacancy.   He has provided us with every good and perfect gift from above to prepare and equip us for the good work He has chosen for us to do!

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Call Committee who worked along side of God in finding our next Pastor.  They gave up not only personal time but family time as they dedicated themselves to the Pastoral search.  We specifically thank Carl Langefeld, Michelle Moss, Ken Foody, Kevin Crater, Karen Armour-Hoke, Mark Winterhoff, Terry Griffin, Olivia Plyler & Matt Gorris.

We would not be at this time of celebration without you and your love for Jesus!

In Christ, Fountain of Life Family

Update March 3, 2019

Dear Fountain of Life Congregation,
It is with humble thanksgiving for all of God’s rich blessings that we joyfully announce that Pastor Elliott Michael Lutz, M.Div., has accepted God’s Divine Call to be our Senior Pastor at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Kernersville. Pastor Elliott, with Katie and Noel, announced the decision to accept the Call via video shown at both services on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Please join in a prayer of thanksgiving that God has prepared Pastor Elliott to partner with us to do His work at this time. May it all be to His glory.
Pastor Elliott is currently discussing with senior leadership at Beautiful Savior in Omaha how to best complete his ministry with them in a God-pleasing manner. Katie, a school teacher, has teaching responsibilities though the end of the semester in May. Thus, the exact date of their move to the Kernersville area and when Pastor Elliott will start his ministry at Fountain of Life is still being worked out.
We pray that the Lord blesses Pastor Elliott’s and Katie’s remaining time in Omaha. We also pray for all of those Pastor Elliott ministered to and who love the Lutz family. We pray that they may have peace in the change and that the Holy Spirit guide their search for a new pastor.
In Christ,
Call Committee

Update February 21, 2019

On February 10th, Fountain of Life extended a Divine Call (Senior Pastor) to Pastor Elliott Michael Lutz of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. This past weekend, Pastor Lutz, Katie Lutz (wife) and Noel Lutz (10 month old daughter) visited Kernersville and Fountain of Life. Pastor Lutz and Katie wish to express their appreciation to members of Fountain of Life for the warm hospitality that resulted in a “great visit”. So many members of the congregation contributed time and resources for Pastor Lutz’s two visits. The Call Committee and FOL leadership wish to express their gratitude to the members of Fountain of Life for their ongoing support of the Call Process and our congregation during this pastoral vacancy. We ask the congregation to continue to cover this process in prayer specifically for Pastor Lutz and his family as they seek clarity of God’s will as he considers this call. May it all be to His glory.

Ask The Pastor

Our first visit from a potential pastor recommended by the Call Committee, is January 31-February 3. A Town Hall meeting will be held on Saturday, February 2, 1:30-3:00pm in the sanctuary. He will share a little about himself and his vision for ministry. He will also answer questions from the congregation. The Call Committee asks members to submit questions now until Wednesday, January 23 via below (click read more) , emailing call@folcp.com or dropping them in the designated box in the narthex. Also, his profile is available for viewing in the fellowship hall and in the binder narthex.

Update December 30, 2018

A town hall meeting was held on Sunday, Dec 16th to review where we are in the call process. Importantly, we compared and contrasted two pastoral candidates whose beliefs and values align with Fountain of Life and who are available for a call.  The Call Committee presented our recommendation, and the congregation voted on which pastor to invite for an in-person visit. We hope to have a visit from a candidate during the month of January.

To review brief biographical profiles, as well as the Call Committee’s evaluation of the two candidates, please refer to the call process binder located in the narthex. Feel free to approach any member of the call committee with questions you may have.

God’s Blessings,

Call Committee
